Affordable Azad Kashmir Tour Packages for Families, Couples & Groups
Milestone Destinations welcomes travellers from across Pakistan and abroad to explore Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK). Many guests pair our Azad Kashmir itineraries with broader northern Pakistan tours for a complete mountain experience.
Nestled in the northern reaches of the country, AJK is famed for emerald valleys and riverside villages — at Keran, you can gaze across the Neelum River toward Indian-administered Kashmir. Our packages are designed for adventurous families, honeymooners, and groups who want comfort without compromising on scenery.
AJK shares borders with Gilgit-Baltistan to the north, Punjab to the south, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the east, with the Line of Control separating it from Indian-administered Kashmir. Spanning roughly 13,297 sq km and home to over four million people, the region rewards visitors with well-maintained roads from Islamabad — typically around three hours to reach the main valleys.
Why Visit Azad Kashmir?
Climate varies by district: Mirpur and Bhimber run warmer in summer, while highland areas stay pleasantly cool. In winter, Sudhnuti, Poonch, Bagh, and Neelum receive generous snowfall — drawing visitors for both summer greenery and winter wonderlands.
Neelum Valley remains the crown jewel, attracting travellers nationwide. Beyond valleys and alpine forests, AJK offers waterfalls, glacial lakes, meadows, and a rich cultural heritage for history-minded explorers.
Whether you prefer gentle sightseeing, camping, trekking, or moderate mountaineering, our curated routes deliver a smooth, memorable journey through one of Pakistan's most photogenic regions.

Beautiful Places to Visit in Azad Kashmir
From glacial lakes and riverside villages to pine forests and high shrines — here are the highlights our guests love most.

Neelum Valley
The most celebrated destination in AJK, reached from Islamabad via Muzaffarabad and Athmuqam. The Neelum River — known as Krishen Ganga on the other side of the border — flows from Taobat through pine-clad gorges. Keran, Kel, Arang Kel, Ratti Gali, and Shounter are among its unmissable highlights.

Chitta Katha Lake
A high-altitude glacial lake at roughly 4,100 metres in the Shounter Valley. Reachable by jeep from Kel and a rewarding hike through alpine scenery. Best visited in summer; heavy winter snow closes access and freezes the lake.

Taobat
The uppermost settlement of Neelum Valley, where the river enters Pakistan. A thrilling jeep journey from Kel unveils dramatic mountain vistas and a palpable sense of remoteness near the Line of Control.
Arang Kel
A postcard-perfect village accessed by chairlift and a short forest hike. Traditional guesthouses replace large hotels, offering an authentic mountain stay — a must for anyone building an Azad Kashmir itinerary.
Ratti Gali Lake
A glacier-fed alpine lake in upper Neelum, best from July to September after a jeep ride from Dowarian and a scenic trek. At about 3,700 metres, it is largely inaccessible in deep winter.
Keran Village
A riverside village straddling the border — Pakistani Keran faces Indian-administered Kashmir across the Neelum. Stay in traditional guesthouses and enjoy golden-hour views over the valley.
Leepa Valley
Roughly 80 km from Muzaffarabad at 3,000 metres, Leepa blends pleasant summers with snowy winters and charming wooden architecture — ideal for travellers seeking quieter landscapes.
Banjosa Lake
An artificial lake near Rawalakot in Poonch district, ringed by dark pine forest at about 1,981 metres. A romantic, easy-to-reach stop with mild summers and frosty winters.
Pir Chinasi
A shrine perched near 2,900 metres, roughly 90 minutes from Muzaffarabad. The metalled road delivers sweeping panoramas of peaks and rivers — perfect for a short AJK escape.
