Skardu Valley Tour Packages for Trekkers, Families & Explorers
Milestone Destinations offers Skardu Valley tours at the foot of the Karakoram — a high-altitude gateway to K2, Broad Peak, and some of the world's most dramatic mountain scenery, lying above 8,000 feet in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Reach Skardu by scenic Karakoram Highway road journey from Islamabad via Jaglot, or by air from major cities — we arrange transport, hotels, sightseeing, and guides so you focus on lakes, forts, and plateau drives rather than route planning.
Our packages span honeymoon stays at Shangrila, Deosai camping seasons, Khaplu and Shigar cultural routes, and multi-valley combinations with Hunza and Fairy Meadows — with optional trekking on request for moderate to expert trails.
Why Visit Skardu Valley?
Skardu sits in the shadow of eight-thousanders and draws mountaineers, hikers, and leisure travellers alike — from Kharpocho Fort overlooking the town to the turquoise pair of Kachura lakes and the vast Deosai National Park.
Summer brings pleasant days for lake boating and valley drives; spring and autumn paint Kachura in blossom and gold; winter can drop well below freezing, rewarding guests who seek snow silence and star-filled plateau nights when roads allow.
We work with experienced local drivers on rugged Skardu routes, hand-picked guesthouses and resorts, and guides who know trekking options from Kharpocho walks to longer Concordia routes — keeping your Baltistan journey safe, flexible, and memorable.

Beautiful Places to Visit in Skardu Valley
Turquoise lakes, heritage forts, plateau wildlife, and Karakoram views — the Baltistan highlights travellers return for.

Shangrila (Lower Kachura) Lake
The iconic heart-shaped lake beside the famous resort — surrounded by Kachura village and changing seasonal colours from blossom to autumn gold. Boat rides and starlit evenings on the water define Skardu for many first-time visitors.

Upper Kachura Lake
A twenty-minute walk through Kachura village leads to this quieter upper lake with crystal water and fishing opportunities. Autumn turns the shoreline brilliant gold against still mountain reflections.

Shigar Fort & Valley
Gateway to major trekking routes and home to a restored historic fort now welcoming guests as a heritage hotel. Shigar blends dramatic landscape with centuries of Balti culture a short drive from Skardu town.
Kharpocho Fort
Perched above Skardu on a rocky outcrop, this fort commands sweeping views of the Indus confluence and surrounding peaks — a rewarding short hike and essential stop on town-based itineraries.
Khaplu Palace & Valley
Ninety kilometres from Skardu at about 8,200 feet, Khaplu offers Haldi Cones views, the restored Khaplu Palace, and the historic Chaqchan Mosque — among Baltistan's finest architectural treasures.
Sadpara Lake
A reservoir lake thirty minutes from Skardu on the road toward Deosai, ringed by seasonal colour changes at 2,638 metres. The gateway drive passes Sadpara village before climbing toward the plateau.
Deosai National Park
The 'Land of Giants' averages over 4,100 metres with brown bears, marmots, and wildflower meadows open roughly May through October. Camping under the Milky Way here ranks among Pakistan's great outdoor experiences.
Sheosar Lake
At about 4,142 metres atop Deosai, Sheosar mirrors sky and peaks after a three- to four-hour jeep journey from Skardu via Sadpara and the Bara Pani crossings — a high-altitude highlight worth the drive.
